Weaving

Long time no see ;) I’d like to say that I’ve been insanely busy and had no time for blogging but that would be a lie. I just didn’t feel like it much. I do have something new to show the world.

Loom (1)

I finally gave in and bought a loom. It’s an Ashford Rigid Heddle and it’s 80 cm. wide (32″). The scarf that’s on it is my second project and it’s sockyarn dyed by my friend Steph. Who should dye more because it’s pretty.

Etsy: Urban Puppy Dog tags

Last year I ordered some custom dog tags for the boys from Urban Puppy. I had bought one for my girl earlier and figured her dad and brothers needed some cool tags too. Nancy is a delight to work with and she sent regular updates. The tags are very pretty and great quality. We needed to get some new collars for the boys but since yesterday they wear their tags with pride.

If you need a tag for your pet I can really recommend Urban Puppy!

Uh oh…

I bought an e-reader quite a while ago and was until just now only fairly happy with it. Not because the device itself is faulty somehow but because I’ve had trouble finding a good source for e-books. Plenty of older books are available in the public domain, I especially like Project Gutenberg for these, but contemporary books were not easy to get for me, mostly because I don’t have a creditcard. This afternoon I visited the bookshop and saw a display about Kobo e-readers. So about an hour ago I went to the Kobo website, hurrah they are now operating in the Netherlands also and they have loads of titles I’m interested in! A wishlist option on the website would be handy though and a shopping basket.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Spring?

Today was nice and sunny, may spring be here?

Three Friends

Knitted Friends

Today I finished the last of a trio of knitted friends. Otto, Elijah and Sophie, designed by Ysolda.

They each took about a week of knitting time, so if you’re looking for a reasonably quick knit this would be perfect. As with all Ysolda patterns they’re really easy to follow. I used Cascade 220 for all three of them.

Whimsical Little Knits 3 arrived in the mail yesterday. A collection of great patterns. I have plans to make a matching set of Not-s0-tiny slippers and Tiny Shoes from Whimsical Little Knits.
